The Lesser Banishing Ritual of the Pentagram
This ritual is to be used when invoking or banishing elemental energies.
Ritual Procedure
Step 1
Face East and perform the Qabalistic Cross, establishing alignment along the central axis of the Tree of Life.
Step 2
While still facing East, draw the appropriate invoking or banishing pentagram in the air and vibrate the divine name “YOD HEH VAV HEH.”
Step 3
Turn to the South. Draw the invoking or banishing pentagram in the air and vibrate “AH-DOH-NAI.”
Step 4
Turn to the West. Draw the invoking or banishing pentagram in the air and vibrate “EH-HEH-YEH.”
Step 5
Turn to the North. Draw the invoking or banishing pentagram in the air and vibrate “AH-GELA.”
Step 6
Return to the East. Extend the arms outward in the form of a cross and recite the Angelic Invocation:
Before me Raphael,
Behind me Gabriel,
At my right hand Michael,
At my left hand Uriel.
For before me flames the Pentagram,
And behind me shines the six-rayed Star.
Step 7
Conclude the ritual by performing the Qabalistic Cross once more, sealing the operation and restoring equilibrium.
Notes on Visualization and Implements
- All pentagrams drawn in the air should be visualized in the mind’s eye as flaming blue pentagrams, vivid and clearly defined.
